Remembrance Day and Help For Heroes: How ABM Solicitors Are Helping
Posted by ABM Solicitors on 6th October 2010 to Wills & Probate and Company
The annual Remembrance Day commemoration will take place on the 11th of November with commemorative services being held up and down the country, including the Royal Family and Political leaders laying wreaths at the Cenotaph. There will also be the annual Royal Festival of Remembrance. Every year the services and acts of remembrance are particularly poignant, but perhaps never more so than this year with our servicemen involved in conflicts around the globe and particularly in Afghanistan.
We at A B Marsh Solicitors would wish to support our armed services and servicemen and women involved. We felt that in line with previous work that we have done in supporting the Royal British Legion in the repair of damage to the Cenotaph that we would like to support the charities in this area particularly. You may also be aware that approximately three quarters of the population of the UK currently do not have a Will. Having a Will in place can be extremely beneficial to you and your family and deal with many issues, not least of all giving certainty to the division of your Estate upon death and also ensuring provision for children and perhaps even avoiding tax.
We suggest that if you would like to instruct us in making a Will, that out of our fee of £150 plus VAT, we will give £50 from our fees to the Help for Heroes Charity, as this seems particularly appropriate at this time. If however you would prefer to support another cause, then we will be happy to give that £50 sum to any charity of your choice. Also it is worth remembering that when preparing your Will, you can make gifts to charities and so help support some very worthy causes. When contacting us, please ask for Matthew Peel, Head of Wills and Probate Section and mention to him 'gifts to charity'.
